Patch for "Wireless configuration not retained." i

#1 Post by rarsa »

Mainly due to lack of time I didn't notice that people were having trouble saving the wireless configuration on the Ethernet/network wizard.

It was working correctly on 1.09CE and it stoped working on 2.x

Finally I had time to investigate and found that I didn't communicate appropriately to Barry that the rc.network script required changes for loading the wireless configuration at boot.

Puppy Versions 2.00, 2.01 and 2.02 lack the code required to automatically bring up the wireless configuration at boot.

People have found manual workarounds but finally I got around creating a patch.

Please install this dotpup. This is not a 'quick fix' this is the code that should have been there on the first place.

Thank you Rarsa - I downloaded & ran your patch and it successfully added the needed lines into my pup2.02 /etc/rc.d/rc.network file.

I've downloaded it too.
I must have got confused awhile back when we were working on that,
anyway I'll make sure the fix is in the final 2.10 Puppy!
