Mplayer TV

Mplayer TV

this plays tv using Mplayer and an (ATI) tv card

requires Mplayer to be installed

Note: this is set up for my hardware ... it probably will not work on your computer, unless you have an ATI Wonder TV card, with an NTSC tuner, and us-cable channels

if you have a different environment, you will need to edit the program (AppRun in the roxapp) and you might need more drivers or different drivers (my tv card does not use audio drivers ... it plugs into the line-in jack of the mixer)

so this is more of an example of what you can do ... sort of a kit ... it probably will not work with your tv card without a lot of modifications

everything is in a roxapp folder in my-roxapps ... delete the icon to uninstall the program

Working tv tuner (PCI hauppauge wintv 878 wdm) with TvTime or MplayerTv.
Tvtime can recognize all tv channel and more configuration options.

I would like to replace Wintv with AGP ati All in Wonder radeon 7200, but non of the players work.
From Tvtime I get this message: "can not open capture device \dev\video0".
Any help ?
thanks

These are the device nodes for an analogue TV capture card.
To create these device nodes, install v4lctl.pet from here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=19918

then run the MAKEDEV-V4L.sh script.

After I dl the .pup file and click on it in rox I get a dialog :

"File integrity is OK: mplayertv.pup
Unzip the dotpup package?

I ok that and get this dialog:

"MD5SUM ERROR: mplayertv.pup
Package may be corrupted
Not enough space to unzip?"

I have 16 gigs of free space. Is the file on the server bad?

Thanks.

Someone in the irc channel converted the pup to a pet and i have it now. Bad news is my slow system wont handle mplayer in general.

md5sum

Code: Select all

d6340c17133275031bf83ccf50a65924 mplayertv.pet
The packages installs to /root/my-roxapps

The download link is broken.
