Has anyone tried these linux apps on pup?

Partimage http://www.partimage.org/
Qtparted http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/

whyQuestion

I have been using "system Rescue" live cd and really like it. As I use it to image and repartitons drives at home & work, with the some of the work Pc's they are touring shows and I may physically see them every couple of years or so, by creating rescue cd for the shows I can have a non computer person boot with the disk and it connects to the Inet and I can shell into to them and locally run tools to back data and repair...from home if I have to. This is also good for my friends that have kids that attract lots of nasties....and guess who gets called to fix it...

We have a few older laptops that have 64meg mem and SR runs well on them. (Not to mention the ibm thinpads ..486's ..I would like to see pup on them.)

Then I found Puppy and my choice of linux changes yet again.

The thing is I have spent time learing and writing z-shell scripts and hope to port these to puppy.

They are simple Q&A to detirmine what IP should be assigned and guide them throuhg imaging the drives.

Still working on it.!!!

Soz for the long rave:(

I have tried qtparted but found cfdisk (in Puppy) easier.

Cool

there is a new program in Puppy 1.0.2
http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/PuppyReleaseCandidate

Remote Desktop RTD Start /Network (from the Menu)

Be interested in how you get on with this . . .

Also Barry (Chief Pup) I am sure will be interested in seeing your scripts

Smile Welcome to Puppy

Funny to mention that, I was at Qtparted website today and this was on the main page.

"QTPARTED IS DEATH!
QTParted was for me just an hobby. I have received just 70 euros of donation... and i cannot spend time to develop it "just for fun". Not now."

From the QTPARTED page today.

QtParted is back among the living! After seeing the message about QtParted's death, the Ark Linux team have decided to continue maintaining it.

the partimage static binary seems to run in Puppy ... i haven't actually used it, in Puppy anyway

there's a parted dotpup on my dotpups page ... i think it does everything qtparted does, and more, but without the gui interface ... again, i haven't actually used it myself from Puppy
