localedef
Converts locale and character set description (charmap) source files to produce a locale database.

i do not know if it works properly or not
someone said something about wanting localedef from Vector Linux 5.1, and i had VL 5.1 unzipped on my hard drive, so i copied it to Puppy and uploaded it
i don't know if it works with Puppy or not, or if it needs a different version
i did an ldd -d and Puppy seems to have all the library files it needs ... i ran it (displaying help and the version), and there were no error messages
i know very little about locales, so i can't be much help
