Hey all,
Sorry for the delay in responding, bad couple of days followed by more of the same.
prit1,
I am using icewm and start wbar from .xintric. I had sleep 3 at the beginning of the line when I was still getting the block. Following your success, I changed it to sleep 6 and it worked just fine. WhoDo had me use sleep 6 to get blinky to behave also. Now both look good. I noticed Meshica7 used 85 for his -balkfa value. Did you use something similar for your setup?
Meshica7,
Could you please post a copy of the file so I can replace it myself? I am using fatfree puppy and I have no experience with GIMP at all. I like your results and doubt I will live long enough to learn enough gimp to duplicate them. I can not even draw stick figures. Off Topic, please excuse. Did you ever get your graphical interface from CatDude working? Mine works, but the website where the various screens are hosted just goes into a continious load/reload. I hope you faired better.
WhoDo,
Nice new avatar. Sometimes you just gotta shake things up. Nice work, did you create it?
Thanks all, Chris.

Here's the OS X Wbar backbar as promised.
Just right click on the image below and "save image as" to your hard drive. Then replace the osxbackbar.png file in /usr/share/wbar/wbar.icons with the new file.
Note:You can download it directly to the wbar.icons folder if you wish and accept the "replace" option when prompted,Just remember to save a copy of the original backbar png somewhere safe in case you don't fancy the new one .

Meshica7,
Thanks for the file, I installed it and adjusted my -balfa setting and whoo whoo it looks great.
When I moved wbar to the bottom, it was partly covered by the task bar. I guess bottom means bottom of screen not window. I did not know how to adjust this, so i moved the task bar to the top. Not ideal, but I also hid it and I think it may grow on me.
I am very noob, but I am using grub with graphical, the first one they made. I have not tried the newer one because I cannot get onto the web site given to get the different screens. If you would like to go back and forth asking me what I have where, I would be happy to try and help that way. I hope that makes sense, Chris.

Hello all,
Wbar and gDesklets make for one cool looking puppy if I do say so myself.
I use icewm and have moved the taskbar to the top and hidden it. My wbar is bottom, or center bottom and I like it there a lot.
Is there a (easy) way to move it up from the bottom a little? I think it would just look a little better to be up some. When I had the taskbar at the bottom and unhidden, I could not place wbar at the bottom because it was partially covered by the task bar.
Thanks in advance and keep up all the good work on this thing, Chris.

I expect you are going to have to modify the C source and recompile it.

To fix the location of something like partview (which graphically displays the amount of free space on mounted partitions) you can make a change like this to set the window's opening position:wolfwatcher51 wrote:Nobody knows how to do this?
Code: Select all
#wm geometry . +90-35
wm geometry . +90-60
Hope that helps

WhoDo.
Thanks for the reply.
OK, got it. Seems like something that should already be in it, but then we are thankful for what we have.
P.S. Find the source code and recompile myself with the appropriate options. I do not think I have had the good fortune to have met, in person, an Australian before. Glad to see you guys have a sense of humor, Chris.

Needs imlib2-1.4.0 to work.
I'm not big on eye candy other than a decent wallpaper and icons. But since I always line up my most used application icons along the top of the screen anyway, wbar is a nice addition. My brother in law loves the dock in OS X, now my little Puppy gets something dock-ish.
wahhh howd you get conky to work
ive been at it for 2 hours D:
i suck at this
No wbar for xfce
Hi Guys. Lee the noob here with a ? about wbar. Has any one tried it in Puppy 4.00 NOP? I been tryin all kinds of different things now for about a week to get it to work and it just won't start. Can wbar be made to work with xfce4 or is it just impossible? If any one has a possible solution to this I would be greatly thankful.
@mill0001: The latest puplet called Tigerpup is an Xfce (and Compiz) I believe. This uses Wbar.
It should be easily usable in Xfce also.
Edit: I just tried adding wbar to my NOP 4 install and it worked without a problem. Please explain what you are trying to do. Where is the code to start wbar? From where did you install Wbar?
