i've just now noticed that the problem comes from https pages.
i can't load them.. strange thing
i even tried to start my windows version of Firefox from Puppy, using Wine, which worked but https pages won't open, same problem; that's why i think it's not depending on the browser...
is there some magic words to add in a script somewhere, or a magic utility to use? i noticed Puppy has a great many network configuring tools, but i'm not very experienced in networking...

Is your network blocking port 443?
How do you access the internet?

how can i check that my network is blocking port 443?
to be able to connect to internet, i used Puppy's 'network wizard', and the 'Auto DHCP' option; i connect via the proxy of the organization who owns my residence (ethernet port), it first direct me to an authentification page;
Puppy is the first Linux with which i can access internet 'normally' that is, i can download things, etc. https pages is the only problem..
