Don't forget Puppy also use the good looking paw image as seen in the menu button and wallpapers; but I still like rastapax's logo better, it looks puppy (not grown up dog), clean, modern. I just hope rastapax could make a circle-glass version so it'll suitable for the menu button as well as icon.

I really like Rastapax one: simple, efficient.
MU's one is good too, but if the edges were straighten, maybe it would convert in my prefered one.
Whodo, yours is really nice, but, I think it doesn't follow the trend "simple is better"...

But how about - "Trix" ...
Do we risk trouble with the cereal trademark?

It's simple: They doesn't looks like a puppy(both), it looks like an older one :?

And, have you seen this? it looks more like Vincent(the new real puppy)

These graphics are neat and make you look at them for a moment longer.

They look a lot like the dog on the PBS show called Wishbone.

Rastapax's design look simple, attractive and very friendly.

I just wonder if the eyes can be made both dark (the incline of the head is OK). Somehow I miss something about the unequal-sized eyes - maybe I should ask an 8-year old what s/he thinks about it. :)

Right now it can be printed on shirts in rainbow colors (wear a different-colored shirt each day). :D

I like these very much. The simplified dog's face looks like an actual logo, rather than merely a dog. And the "reduction" aspect of the face reminds me of the reduction aspect of the Puppy OS...

What I meant for MU'vincent could like something like this:

In considering the season in the states when and where the suggestion of Eve came from, how about Summer's Eve? I'm not sure such a name would necessarily help further this cause, though. On second thought, never mind ...

Silly rabbit. Trix are for kids!

Ok, I feel compelled to make a few salient points here:

1. I didn't create the logo I offered, so I have only a limited "vested" interest in its use, but...
2. The original puppy, in honor of whom the distro was named, was a FULLY GROWN chuihuahua
3. The puppy (NOT fully grown) on which the offered logo was based is an Australian Red Kelpie - characteristically intelligent, hard working and lean, just like Puppy Linux ... and perhaps even its creator.
4. I personally want any new Puppy logo to look professional and finished, just like Puppy Linux. I believe that's the message a new logo should send from the outset.
Wikipedia wrote:Kelpies are loyal, friendly, intelligent, problem-solving dogs and make excellent pets. They do need to be stimulated as idle and bored dogs become frustrated and destructive. Walks and socialisation are more than sufficient to keep them happy, but agility and ball games bring out the best in them. A Kelpie is not an aggressive dog, but family pets will protect their family with no regard for themselves.

The Working Kelpie typically has an abundance of energy and deep endurance. It will often drive a mob of sheep over sixty kilometers (37 miles) and upwards in extremes of climates and conditions. Kelpies are very agile: Working Kelpies are renowned for running along the backs of sheep when moving them through chutes.
So, in the light of that, and as attractive as they are for all sorts of reasons, I don't think MU's Vincent or the rastapax logos fit the bill. Just my $AUD0.02c worth ... currently about $US0.016c :P

Now, now... I hope you're not going to suggest that because Australians can get Oxycontin on a 3-peat prescription for under $5.00 under the PBS that might mean we have more oxymorons than you guys! :P

As cute as the logo in post #1 is, I kind of prefer this logo above. It's simpler, more professional-looking and seems more like a logo for an operating system. It's cute without being overly cute. :)

Ooh, I like the pawprint for the menu button...though a Mac-like circle version of the puppy logo rastapax made would also be good.

Rasapax's logo is great

Dear puppians,

My vote goes to rastapax - since it truly looks like a logo and is very distinctive and eye-catching. I would also like to see a few glassy icons in various colours for various colour schemes that could be used for the start button...along the lines of the circular-framed paw-print above. It's a pleasure seeing creative minds at work on a good thing - and Barry's Puppy being the unifying principle.

With kind regards,
vovchik

To my eye this begins to drift toward more of a clownish dolphin than a dog.
Might just be me.
