bad hard drive

bad hard drive

hello i have been useing a puppy live disk for a wile now and really do like it i have not instelled it becouse my pc is to new n under warrinty but my hard drive just when out im unsure why
i was wondering is there some way i can run puppy n try to recove some of my files? i have use some soft ware in windows in the past but that was a few years ago and i was wondering what i can do with what i have b4 taking it in to a shop any help would be apprecated

Hi

Boot from CD and try to mount your hard drive from the drives icon on the desktop.

If it mounts you will see the files and folders in the Rox window, just plug in a pen drive and copy the files to it.

You could also remove the puppy CD and then burn the files to a CD or DVD.

BTW what is the problem with the hard drive? are you getting an error message? It might be recoverable if you could provide some more information.
