Hi,
I have used puppylinux with rdesktop and using port redirection I have used some printers with RDP on Windows systems.
Generally, I redirect usb port to lpt2 , it works and you do not need any driver on linux side. Windows drivers directly uses printer.
However with Canon L-295 Fax that I want to use only laser printing function, it does not install the software on Windows because installer can not find the printer.
When I install manually using windows printer add , canon driver does something and a popup complains that driver disks can not be found...
I am stuck , even the printer is seen on printer panel it does not print anything. Worse thing is I had to disable Data Execution Prevention, XP keeps shutting down windows explorer because of it. I had never though I had to turn it off because of a printer driver ...
Finally, I will try old printer driver redirection but there is no official Canon L-295 printer driver for linux.
Can someone help? Is there anyone who could install it on puppy?
Any advise will be great.
Thanks,
Burzek
