Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". had enough!

#1 Post by john biles »

Hello MU and all the other Puppy users that would most likely have an answer to this.

I don't know how many times this (Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".) has come up in the Terminal when trying to convert Apps over to run in TEENpup and Puppy preventing them from running.

I have tried added extra libs with no luck.

I need your magic Please help

GLX is the hardware accellerated version of OpenGL.
You must install OpenGL and graficscarddrivers with 3DCC.

Is teenpup based on Puppy 2.16?
There were reports, that the Nvidia kernel-driver of 3DCC does not work in 2.16.
I had used it in Puppy 2.12 (Muppy007).
But the other drivers might work.

Hello MU,
Once again your the best !!

I installed X11R7-OpenGL pup.
3DCC-Puppy2.12-2.13 pup
gtklist04MU pup

Rebooted and I no longer get the message (Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".)

OH, By the way TEENpup2.0.0 is based on Puppy 2.14

I will be including these in any updates of TEENpup 2.0.0

I have been running beryl and fretsonfire (both require accel obviously) w/ my Nvidia gforce2 400/400 mx card no problems really w/ 2.16 also i am booting from ntloader to grubldr to puppy frugal install. 9629 driver precompiled tarball extracted to root from the beryl installation post.
