Multi-option Puppy on USB

#1 Post by Burn_IT »

I imagine this has been asked before, but I'll explain what I want to do.

This is about USB, but may possibly port back to CD/DVD.

I have built a FAT32 based USB minidisk drive with various utilities on it and one of these is Puppy 4.2 seamonkey retro frugal with lots of additions - Wine and Virtualbox being the major ones as well as customised Firefox.

I use Grub4Dos to control it and fire up Puppy without using the WakePup code.

Now I want to use the Puppy in various modes.
I can force pfix=ram and other start up parameters via Grub4Dos, which allow me to use the base product on a lower spec machine but the one thing I want to do is eluding me at the moment.

I would like to be able to use the customised pup-save, but force redetection of the mouse and screen (keeping keyboard UK) so I can use my settings on another machine.

Any ideas people???

Redetection should happen automatically, you'll just need to answer a few questions. There was some talk about this happening with no questions being asked, but has never been implemented. Good luck.
