[HOWTO]Localize Seamonkey 1.1.2 (Puppy-3.00) Subject description: And earlier versions |
|
1. Choose a langpack for your version:
1.1.2 http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/releases/1.1.2.html [Directory]
1.0.8 http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/releases/1.0.8.html
Other http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/releases/
2. Install the langpack and take note of the region's name, example: es-ES for 'seamonkey-1.0.8.es-ES.langpack.xpi':
3. Close all seamonkeys windows, then change the language.
Example: I've downloaded 'seamonkey-1.0.8.es-ES.langpack.xpi' so I have to type: Code: | seamonkey -UILocale es-ES |
EDIT: "seamonkey -UILocale es-ES" won't start seamonkey, it is just to change language for the User Interface.
4. Seamonkey Suite is now in your language
Start Seamonkey again(clic on its desktop icon or via Puppy Menu)
5. Switch back to english language entering this line:
Code: | seamonkey -UILocale en-US | in a terminal window.

If I would like to change the language of SeaMonkey I go in edit-preferences-navigator-languages and I add the language I want.
Isn't this enough?

That doesn't work for me. It only changes the language for "Contents of page" not the "User Interface".

Problems with German Seamonkey-1.0.8 |
|
Hello wow
Thanks for your detailed description. But it doesn't work with the german language pack.
When I start seamonkey with: seamonkey -UILocale=de_DE
I get the following error-message:
/usr/lib/mozilla/seamonkey-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/seamonkey-1.0.8/components/libgfx_gtk.so: undefined symbol: pango_xft_get_font_map
Has someone any idea what to do? Googleing didn't help.
