Where have all the icons gone? Subject description: Upgrade from 2.01 to 2.14, usual desktop icons are gone? |
|
I used to go to /root/my-roxapps after installing a dot.tar.gaz or dot.pup file to get the icon for the desktop shortcut, or perhaps /usr/share/icons. But with 2.14 all the icons look the same when viewed in roxy. What happened? Where to get icons now?

many of my packages put a folder in my-roxapps ... the folder contains various files, including an icon ... i don't know if anyone else installs rox application dirs in my-roxapps
if you have rox application dirs in my-roxapps, the icons should be displayed in the Rox filer window if you show the files in my-roxapps ... you will not see the icons if you use another file manager, like uXplor
if you can't see the icons in a Rox window, there must be something that was changed or corrupted, but i'm not sure what ... are the icons on the desktop ok?

The icons that come with the install are OK. I was hoping you would say there is a switch in Rox' config.

i did look at the Rox options, and didn't see any options that would affect roxapp icons
it might be a problem with a library file, like libpng.so or libimlib-png.so
i'm running 216, but i didn't have problems with icons in 214 either ... screenshot:
