I made a frugal install on a hard drive partition an told Puppy to use the remaining space of the partition as home (I mean the settings, documents etc. storage). Then I booted Puppy from a CD and created a lightly encrypted pup_save file on a separate partition. When I later boot from hard drive, Puppy asks twice whether to use the file as source for settings or not.

BTW Can I use the (encrypted) pup_save file when I boot from the hard drive? Puppy says it is not recommended, but why not? Does it matter that it is in a separate partition?
