Puppy 2.16 evdev conflicting with petget alien pkg install
I came across an odd issue with my Dell Inspiron 1100 Frugal install.
2.16 sensed a Synaptics touchpad and added a modprobe for evdev in rc.local.
I noticed on this machine that petget would not load an alien package. I get as far as the "PetGET: Choose package" dialog and any button terminated the app. Just by chance I was setting up batmon and saw evdev in the rc.local not knowing what it did I #'ed it out.
So I'm getting ready to post this bug tried petget to specifically determine where it dies and what the??? All of the sudden petget is working.
I have confirmed the evdev module is causing issues on this specific machine. I remove the evdev module and petget works as expected.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a potential fix?

This is interesting.
Other people have encountered a similar problem but I'm not sure they all had the evedev module loaded.
It also seems to be only in Xvesa (or only Xorg? I can't remember...).
Try searching the forum for "petget crashes" and see if you there are any similarities... _________________ What's the ugliest part of your body?

I've got a dell D610. Downloaded a dotpet package and installed by clicking the "Or, if you have downloaded a PET package, official or unofficial, you can install it by clicking this button" button. No problem. I have the evdev module loaded which is needed for synaptics.
