wesnoth-1.2.4.pup

#1 Post by Pizzasgood »

Wesnoth is a great multi-platform strategy game. There are versions for Linux, Mac, and even Windows. It's turn based, fantasy style, and open source. You can go to www.wesnoth.org for more information.

wesnoth-1.2.4.pup 67MB

This also needs libsdl, libsdl-image, and libsdl-mixer. Libsdl and libsdl-mixer can be installed through PETget. I attached libsdl-image at the bottom of this post.

In case you're having trouble with getting PETget started (blank list syndrome or death-upon-clicking syndrome), here are direct links to libsdl and libsdl-mixer from ibiblio:
libsdl-1.2.9.pet
libsdl_mixer-1.2.6.pet

There are several other SDL packages floating around, including some that MU's 3DCC program can install. I do remember that the one in 3DCC includes libsdl-image, but I don't know if it has libsdl-mixer or not. Also, Pizzapup 3.x comes with libsdl and libsdl-image already, so it just needs the libsdl-mixer package.

A library for SDL. If you install SDL from 3DCC, this is included.

Okay, you can download it now. Sorry for the delay. My website is being strange (changes appear through ftp, but not http. Must be some kind of server-side caching or something). So, I uploaded the game to dotpups.de and attached libsdl_image. Enjoy! (I know I will :D )

I was just wondering if there's an updated .pet package for this game?

I actually compiled the new one (took ages...)
You can find it here

A couple of caveats though:
1. It's compiled with --smallgui so it will fit on the Eee PC screen. This means that the interface will be a bit odd if you use it on a normal screen, nothing too major, just the logo moved over, the menu bar moved a bit, some buttons tweaked.
2. I don't have a mirror, which means you'll have to download it from my mega-slow server.

Good luck

Is there one that's not configured for EEE PC? Preferrably in a .pet package?

Er.

"Probably not" is the answer, but with a side dish of "just maybe".

I can recompile it without but I need somewhere to host it. You will need the same dependencies from the thread I mentioned before, so grab them now.

I'll post here and PM you when it's up. I'll use RapidShare or something.

Any other requests? :) (That means "Yes, I will recompile it for you", by the way)

Well.

Sorry that took so long, I've been offline for a few days. But here it is.

Dependencies:
libSDL
libSDL_image
libSDL_mixer
libSDL_net
Boost C++ libraries (maybe not- it might just be for compiling, try it without and post results back up here)
Python (optional - for advanced AI)

Many thanks to MU for the hosting.

I'm attempting to install wesnoth-1.4.3-i686.pet but I'm getting this error:
The wesnoth-1.4.3-i.686.pet package has been downloaded to /root/.packages, however there is not enough room to uncompress and install it. The free space is 52234 blocks but it is estimated you will need 224768 blocks temporarily for the expansion and install.

Note: If you are using a pup_save.3fs personal storage file, it can be made bigger -- see Utilities menu.

This script will now delete the package and exit...

The problem is I have 443MB free space, how come it's telling me I only have 52234 blocks?

Also, I tried installing Wesnoth on my other USB flash drive which has a personal file of 1235MB free space. Now it's telling me it only has 47768 blocks to decompress?

Hello

I have a small problem. I installed absolutely all the packages which are in the previous post. But I still don't have all files : at the installation, it tells me that the file "liboost_iostreams-gcc42-mt-1.36.so.1.36.0" is missing in /usr/bin/wesnoth. I searched for two weeks, but I still can't find it.

Could you help me please ? :/

Thats strange because its a different version than I compiled, Well if you have my boost pet package from above installed then try this, Its basically a system link. See if it works

It still doesn't work =/

I'll try with the 1.4.3 version.

Edit : Ok. I just formated everything to restart clearly and in a better way. I installed these packages and pedget doesn't ask me anymore for the "liboost_iostreams-gcc42-mt-1.36.so.1.36.0" file, but I need "libpython2.5.so.1.0". Thanks for the package, it helped too :D
Edit again : it works fine now. It seems that your package and those in my first edit salved all :D

I get the same error when I try to install it. Anyone got any tips for how to overcome this?
I actually did get it installed using the dotpup though, but I think the dotpup is 1.4.3, and the latest dotpet is 1.4.5. Could be mistaken, though.

I installed all the files on this thread.

As the previous poster mentions I am still missing the following dependencies:

libphython2.5.so.1.0 libboost_iostreams-gcc42-mt-1_36.so.1.36.0
