Winecfg not working

I'm running 2.14 with a full HD install. I've installed Wine 0.9.22, following instructions from the Wiki. The first instruction is to download the .sfs file to /mnt/home, so I created this directory which did not exist. Having installed the other files and rebooted, my attempt to run Winecfg gives this message:

winecfg:
command not found

I've had a look in this file but, as a beginner, I don't understand what is being looked for. I suspect that my directory structure is different from what is expected, and would be grateful for some advice.

I tried that and ended up with a frozen PC. I'd rather go for something tried and tested for now. Is there anything which will tell me what directory structure the installation expects to find, or what the message means?

Thanks Matu, I've read through this but, as a beginner, I hit the usual problem. I can find plenty of information telling me what sfs files are, but nothing which tells me what to do with them and how they operate. Everyone here is an experienced Linux user who doesn't use Puppy as their main OS, right? It seems that sunburnt's boot manager might be an answer, but this comes as a tarball, and I cannot find step by step instructions on how to install to Puppy from a tarball, so I'm just going in circles. Puppy works so well for me in all other respects that I want to stick with it, but there is just one Windows-only application I want to run.

As far as I can understand (I'm not a Linux expert) regularly you cannot use an .sfs file with full-hd install. They can be used with live-cd and with frugal-hd installs. On the other hand there is a tool created by sunburnt, which helps you to install .sfs files on a full-hd install. It is described here: http://208.109.22.214/puppy/viewtopic.p ... c0a4659766

This file is in tar.gz format, but you can extract it with Xarchive to /root/my-applications.

you don't want to create /mnt/home if it dosen't exist use the dotpup insted
