Hi,

Is the PB-Debianinstaller-beta01 dotpup still being worked on for improvements.. Question

I use it a fair bit to install debian based packages to Puppy - so far it works well .. Very Happy

The only prob I found is that in the 'check dependencies' step (step 4) the resulting dialog window advising of missing dependencies - no way to be able to save this page external to the installer - so as one can then follow up in locating &/or downloading the 'missing' files from either local sources or from the web.. Evil or Very Mad

Also - is there a way for the installer to use already downloaded packages from locally from a folder on my own hard drive.. Question

I tried to use the newer PSI package - but found that it does not allow for locating and using files from local folders on my hard drive (or if it does - cannot see how it be done - some guidance would be appreciated).. Question

Any help please.. Question

The installer has a filedialog to choose a .deb , if you run it without argument as a standalone program, not from PSI.

But I actually have no time to support it any longer.
PSI would have priority if I had time, but even that must wait.

I think that gslapt is better than using the Debian package installer, as slackware is more similar to Puppy.
The new PetGet from Barry even supports Slackware packages now, so you get access to a quite huge repository.
