I've updated the Puppy manual to release 3.01 (see http://www.puppy-linux.info/ ). The manual is available in English and German now and will be available in Spanish, Italian, French and Japanese language soon. Very much thanks to Dot, Caka, GW, Slapshot, Billwho YoN and nyu for translation.

Puppy manual updated to 3.01
Great news that there's a manual available for Puppy 3.01!
However, it's not too obvious from the post that you have to go up to the top of the page and click on the 'Manual' link to get it. Why not have a URL that points to the available manuals directly? Thanks!

Because I would like that users read
- the introduction (especially the sentence: I do not take any responsibility for the contents and quality of the information)
- the name of the translators, because they had a lot of effort
- and that there are some more informations (videos, links, shell commands) that could be useful

Thanks for the recognition Oli but I think it might be a bit early, I haven't seen this version yet much less done any proof reading.oli wrote: Very much thanks to Dot, Caka, GW, Slapshot, Billwho YoN and nyu for translation.

Am saving it to my hard drive tonight.
Linux = Learning through doing  :? :D
The learning curve may be steep but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
You just have to pass the occasional oncoming train to get there.

Puppy 3.01 Manual
Hi Oli,
Really appreciate you bringing the manual up to date.
I noticed one little refinement you might like to make.
In section "2. How to get Puppy"
you say:
...you say ...
This makes the procedure seem more cumbersome and error prone in Linux than in Windows. In fact the same command can be used
in Linux.
Cheers,
Richard.

you say:
Whereas in "Within Windows"Open a shell and change into the directory, in which you stored the two files. Enter the following command:
* md5sum puppy-3.01-seamonkey.iso
As a result you get the checksum. Open the file puppy-3.01-seamonkey.iso.md5.txt with a text program (e.g. abiword). The two checksums should be identical.
...you say ...
-----------* md5sum -c puppy-3.01-seamonkey.iso.md5.txt
You should get an "OK".
