VLC plugin for Firefox problem |
|
Hi,
I have found a package software with a VLC plugins that can be used inside Firefox.
When i install it seems to work and is well recognized by firefox when i check in the config but it does nothing. It seems VLC is looking for something in the wrong path but i don't know what.
Is there someone having this running and can explain how to ?
or is there anyobdy willing to test ?
Best regards,
Laurent

I have no idea, but I do have a tip for after you get it sorted. Firefox is a little glitchy with it's plugins. Symlinking them from the /usr/local/firefox/plugins/ directory to /root/.mozilla/plugins/ seems to help. That's mostly for the flash plugin, but so far it seems like it helped the mplayerplug-in too, though I haven't strenuously tested it yet.
GuestToo made a comment about exporting a plugin path variable which may make the symlinks unnecessary. It's on my list of things to investigate someday.
