E-UAE - Commodore Amiga Emulator |
|
Yes, I have compiled the E-UAE Amiga emulator. It requires SDL and ALSA, and I have made it into a .pet. If you do not have a .pet capable system, rename the file to a .tgz, and extract it.
Compressed with UPX from 15mb to 3mb XD
No games or kickstarts are supplied herein.
e-uae-0.8.29-WIP3.pet

Where are kickstart and games available for those wishing to explore (but not utilise) how such a system is made to work?

There is a private tracker that probably would have it: www.underground-gamer.com Even though this name, they specialise in pre-2001 games and roms. It might even be legal. No, I don't have any invites yet.

I am having trouble getting E-UAE to work on Puppy 2.13. I have a 3.0 rom image, copied from my Amiga, and I have a Workbench 3.0 disk in adf format.
E-UAE opens a window but the adf does not boot. I have tried other bootbale adf's which work with WinUAE so certain it is not a problem with adf's.
I have installed ALSA, which appeared to be already installed, but how do I check whether SDL is installed? How can I check and if it isn't installed where can I download it from.
Do I need any other files to get it to work like RTG.library?

Problem is now fixed.
I mounted a bootable Workbench 'harddisk' and E-UAE will now boot.

It wont run if you don't have SDL.

It is working fine so SDL must be installed as standard with Puppy. Out of curiosity how do I check?
I am inexperienced when it comes to Linux and still finding my way round but am at home in front of an Amiga.

UAE Sub_title: Works in 2.14 |
|
Ta Gekko,
Games run quite well in 2.14, and the joystick works too which is most satisfactory.
Never had any luck with ithe JS under the old OSS system but things have moved on quite a bit since those early days.
Now I can wallow in Amiga nostalgia - just like a dog ecstatically rolling in a delicious cow pat.
Cheers

I'll give it a try when I got my Amiga-Rom.

thank you very much for compiling this! I like retrogaming.
I have only a problem with audio: when I run games the music has short interruption.
