Strange USB problem in pizzapup

#1 Post by sml »

This strange USB problem is also present in pizzapup. Some details are in these threads ...

It was unusual because USB devices were working with a pfix=ram. Then tried a boot without the pfix=ram. Initially it was working ok but after about 10 mins it was broken. I think there is a problem with the pupsave functionality.

Apart from that pizzapup is great ... my pick over Muppy and GrafPup :)

PS - bug when using the CD/DVD drive wizard and clicking on the buttons. It opened a full page Xdialog window ?

Sounds like Xdialog messed up. When it does, it displays the manual. It seems to work fine on my end. Does it happen every time you do it? If so, what about in the standard Puppy (specifically 2.12)? In a fresh (or pfix=ram) version?

Thanks

Hi pizzaman,

I just tried a few tests.
- Puppy 2.14 with save file = Xdialog problem
- Pizzapup 3.0 with pfix=ram = Xdialog problem
- Pizzapup 3.0 with save file = Xdialog problem

I did have success at one point over the past few days. Maybe it was when I eventually had my external USB DVD drive connected with a pfix=ram boot.

Anyway, I nearly have the perfect distro ... if I can just get my external USB DVD writer working and my Logitech laser mouse working!

By the way, if you can offer any suggestions with one of my other final problems it would be much appreciated ...
