Subject description: loaded with ndiswrapper in pup with the connection wizard, has worked		  
(A-1) on all machines I've tried; (~6-7) laps & desks, using live cd ver 2.12 (&3). RT2500 based but didn't try that (..or forget if I did).
They sell on e-bay for ~ 20-30 bucks.

Laps are gateway m520, mx-3410 & acer 2420.

Also, all 3 laps are humming wifi with their onboard mini pci wifi cards.

2, the way they were bought & in the other, I swapped out the card (barely worked in windows so didn't bother) for one that works (~20 bucks on e-bay). Again running pup 2.12 (or3) live cd.
