Pizzagood has taken the lead here:

http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=143

Download his DotPup and see how simple it is to add the registration.

There is only one little thing to fix, that I noted in that thread.

Note, you don't have to register a DotPup, but it's highly advisable if the package installs into /usr.
A DotPup that lives totally in /root doesn't have to register, but if it does then there is the very convenient ability of the PupGet manager to uninstall packages. But then, you might not need that either if you have everything in a rox-app.

Page updated 17th May:

http://www.goosee.com/puppy/development/package-management.htm

Explains more clearly how to register a DotPup or any package with PupGet.

Whew! I read that, and for a second there I thought I had screwed up again and used > instead of >>! I also just realized that if you use single quotes you don't seem to need to escape anything. Mine is all like
"\"sdl-1.2.8\" \"sdl-1.2.8: Simple Direct Media Layer (runtime library)\" on \"SDL: Who needs DirectX?\" \\"
Rolling Eyes

Well, at least I'll know for next time....
