Help! Remaster Puppy Live-CD won't work now on Puppy2.13 or

#1 Post by olddave »

My modem program got corupted so I went back a save or two but now I cannot make a new copy of Puppy. I even tried an older version (Puppy2.10). Still cannot use the remaster program. The GUI starts and I hit Okay then it goes to a page of script??? click okay again and then nothing! Could this be virus or worse? Everything was working fine until I downloaded some Dotpups and tried to install. This would have to be a memory resident issue or something saved to harddrive to affect all copies of Puppy. I think anyway. Any help would be appreciated. This is in part what is printed in the XUsage for Xdialog:

Xdialog v2.3.1 by Thierry Godefroy <xdialog@free.fr> (v1.0 was
written by Alfred at Cyberone Internet <alfred@cyberone.com.au>).

Minor reprive. If I plug a pen drive into the usb port I can make a new multi session disk. Without the usb drive I still get the afore mention problem.

My guess is that you are running from CD in RAM with no HDD , swap space or external storage. The built in remaster script doesn't work in this situation. Plugging in the USB storage lets it work. If you want to do a remaster totally in RAM and have got plenty of it I believe Dougal's Improved Remaster Script will still work if you are in this situation.
