The wizard cannot do things that cannot be done from the console so the last thing I can recommend is trying to figure out how to make it work from the console.

After you find a way to make it work, please let us know what worked and I can try to include it in the wizard.

Try another way>menu>Network>RutilT. Enter info in profiles (new) & apply.
Then go back to 'connect to' icon & click on dhcp..sometimes it takes a few tries on the dhcp. Box has to come up that indicates ..successfully configured ..

I don't see mention of channel?

Bottom line, sounds like you're real close & something's not configured right :D

I'm not clear on this part, or what you did in setting up the router?

"well redid wireless security, entered pass phrase and winxp generated 10 bit hex number automatically, ok I am happy with it"

My sugestion is to try from the console. Focus on having it working there.

If you remove layers of complexity you are more likelly to find what's causing your problem. In technical terms, having a GUI adds a layer of complexity to give the illusion of simplicity.

Thanks guys

used console to connect no error but no blinky 2 monitor console either. Browser didnt resolve anything. Added console commands to /root/bin/zd1211-connect. restarted nothing.
Then tried WAG again it did find network clicked profile and then my profile NETGEAR loaded and bingo Blinky appeared and I was connected
so WAG does work in my case I have been connected for half an hour no connection drop all fine

Once again many thanks for friends who helped
