How to install ath9k wireless driver?

#1 Post by spain »

I just installed Puppy in a partition. It didn't recognized my wireless card. I tried to install a driver under "connect", but it is not there. My driver is an ath9k. I looked in the internet and I found it, but so far it seems that it should be installed with a package. I get information like; "should enable mac80211", or "use compat".

Does anybody know how to installed a wireless driver that is not included in the Puppy installation?

Do I have to use one of these packages? Even if I can get a tarball, What do I have to do with it after untar it? The whole thing looks complicated Rebuilding the kernel and things like that.

I didn't have any problem in this matter when I installed mandriva and ubuntu. That's why they are still there.
Can anybody help?

You didn't say which version of Puppy you're using. The latest Puppy 4.3 with 2.6.30.5 kernel includes the ath9k driver. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 492#346445

I suggest trying that version of Puppy.
