Strange, I just tried a search in all my files. Pfind found 65 matches ... I press the browse-button, and all matches shoes up.

Hmmm??? Your output to terminal is no problem. Is this happening for all your searches, or just now and then.

It happens to all my searches.
I also reinstalled it (but I think that 4.4-1 is included in puppy 4.1, nothing changed.

liberomureddu wrote:Hi,
I postedi this also to the 4.1 bug section, but I realized now that this could be a better place!
In last pfind, the browse button creates an empty folder.
If I start it from a terminal, I get:
find: /proc/15338/net: Invalid argument
rm: cannot remove `/tmp/searchresult16512': No such file or directory

It used to work before the last puppy 4.1

Zigbert, I can confirm this very thing. The file browser that opens is empty. Sorry I didn't mention this earlier, but it goes back a number of revs.

I would like to add a rox-right click handler (Search Here) that opens pfind with the search directory preset. Do you think it would be possible to add this in.

Ideally this means that pfind would support the syntax:
pfind /path/to/my/search/dir
I could also get the following to work:
pfind --search-dir /path/to/my/search/dir

For my purposes the paths would always be absolute. If this is possible it would be great.

Sigbert,
Pardon me if I've just overlooked something but I notice that pfind 2.0 has a help button and pfind 4.4 doesn't. There is a file /usr/local/pfind/pfindhlp which seems to have help information in it. Is it just a remnant of bygone days?

I quite like pfind with or without the help button. Thanks for creating it.

zigbert,
That was quick, thank you very much.
Your filehosts dns name is not resolving so I cannot test.
I have included a roxapp that uses the -d switch but need to test, if the host is going to be down for a while, is there any chance you can temporarily attach it here or PM it to me.

I've done some testing. The -d parameter does not work properly if there is a space in the path used, otherwise it works great, thank you.

Considering your first release supporting -d took less than 14 hours from me requesting it and it works fine for the sensible people that don't put spaces in directory names I don't see this as urgent.

cheers

FYI sort by size doesn't seem to work at the moment - I just get a blank list.

-a switch for starting in advanced mode.
Woohoo! Thanks, that's awesome :):):)

Tiny bug: pfind -a ->Cancel brings up an empty results gui instead of closing

Also when you do a search from the little search bar in the results window, if it doesn't find anything it shows an empty results window - it would be good to show the previous results again.
