Really slow new2dir?

I am in the process of building a Ruby DotPet. Apparently, Ruby comes in two parts: Ruby and Ruby Doc. New2dir on the Ruby took only a few minutes. new2dir on Ruby Doc has been running for over 30 hours. I checked, the .files have been expanding slowly so it hasn't crashed.

Has anyone experience this issue?
