Intel PRO wireless 2011B pci card WORKS out of the box!
I have just bought for a few bucks (15 euros in an italian store) a brand new Intel PRO/Wireless 2011B LAN pci adapter. It seems to use a Prism 2.5 chipset.
There were chances Puppy could make it work, and....... guess what?? IT WORKS! I am posting here using it now!!!
Yes. I know, it is a 802.11b old card, but it suited my needs ( internet surfing). I put it in my puppy PC ( an Intel Pentium II slot 1 - 266 mhz 64 MB ram), turned the system on with my PuppyCD 2.13 and ran WAG. Wag detected a Prism I card ( although Pupscan reported Prism 2.5). I edited the template profile according to my SSID and Gateway ( a Belkin ADSL 125g wireless router). Then I opened Seamonkey and Ta-daaan! I'm here to post it! SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE! No needs to do other! I don't know if it's a dream or reality, I'm a bit tired and now it's 2:00 a.m. . I hope tomorrow it will keep on working...
And thanks to Barry and to the whole Puppy team for helping people to be free to choose.
