Why aren't my network settings reappearing on reboot?

#1 Post by Inuyasha »

I'm using a netgear wg111v2 wireless USB. It works in Puppy Linux with some downloads I was directed to from a thread on the forum. However, after setting it up by doing the following:

# modprobe r8187
# ifconfig wlan0 up

Afterwards, I had to use network wizard to create the settings and so forth. I saved the session to the CD, and I rebooted the computer. I've been this through a couple times, so I know I've already saved the profile and made sure it was working.

It just seems that the profile is not reloaded when Puppy Linux (Puppy Linux 2.16) reboots. It doesn't reload the network settings.

If it's worth anything, I keep the wireless usb plugged into the computer during the boot.

So, why are the network settings not reloading when I boot into Puppy?

Imo the net wiz needs some sortin out in term of saving settings. There are fixes.
