PCMCIA Cardbus and Kino

#1 Post by Aung »

I have a laptop with a PCMCIA firewire adaptor and I am trying to use Kino. In preferences at the IEEE 1394 tab Kino says "The raw1394 module must be loaded and must have read and write access to /dev/raw1394." My hardware either or Kino cant recognise my DV camera. Raw1394 does not show up in /dev/. In "lsmod" raw1394 shows up as size 28916 used by 0. Yenta socket shows up, size 27516, used by 3. Raw1394.ko and IEEE1394.ko are in lib/modlues/2..6.18.1/kernel/drivers/ieee1394. In PCI interfaces--kernel module matches--description: viatech. ieee1394 host controler--vendor 1106--device 3044, "kernel module" is unknown.
Also VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586A/B/VT82C686/A/B/VT823x/A/C PIPC Bus Master IDE VENDOR: 1106 DEVICE: 0571 KERNEL MODULE: is unknown.
This is what I get from the "lspcmcia" command.
