Need to view or convert a PSD image file

#1 Post by JustGreg »

I have a PSD image file that I would like to view. Does anyone know how to convert a PSD file to either jpeg or bmp file using Puppy? I have searched the forum without any luck and used the Google Puppy search tool without any sucess. I am using Puppy 4.3.1, Oct 2009. None of the graphic tools seem to work. Thank you in advance for any help

For serious image work the gimp is a must...would give you bmp and a whole lot more. Can import pdf too

I agree gimp is good for serious work, but just to open a psd and save it in another format is a bit of overkill when you consider the size of the package with all its addons.

To open and save a psd use zamzar or some other online convertor.....
gimp is smaller than some audio players I've seen on here :D

Thank you everyone for the replies and help. I will be off to find fotox. If that fotox does not work then I try Gimp. Once again thanks for the help.

Thanks Tubby for pointing to location of Fotoxx. It did save the psd as a jpeg file. Fotoxx did complain about the lack of exif library but does work. That problem is solved.

- Adobe is evil
- PSD is Adobe
- so, PSD is evil..
I think 50MB+ to read a document and 2.8GHz cpu to watch a video is perfectly reasonable...and I would quite happily pay $600 to write a page of html.
