#1 Post by srgtlord »

I installed puppy linux on the hardrive using a different machine becuase the live cd would lock up the Ibm thinkpad770x. I put th hardrive into the ibm thinkpad 770x but the dvddrom drive is not detected. What now?

Puppy only starts up if the dvd drive is removed. After which it does not detect the drive.

There may be a bios setting to place hard drive boot
before cdrom boot.... but this does sound like a defective
dvd player.

If you have the floppy drive, slide that in the slot and see
f it causes any problems.

No the dvd drive works under ubuntu and windows xp, puppy linux just does not reconize it. The other weird thing about it is puppy discovers a floppy drive that I dont have.
