This is a gui that uses transmissioncli bit torrent client. I wrote this because I'm not satisfied with Transmission-gtk for a couple of reasons.
reason 1:
You can only have one instance of Transmission-gtk open at anytime
reason 2:
There's no way to configure anything on a per torrent basis. Everything you configure pertains to all of your open torrent files. Sometimes I want to throttle my upload bandwidth on a torrent because I'm seeding a file elsewhere.
This gui will allow you to open multiple torrents with individual settings per torrent.
Of course you'll need transmissioncli:

0.2 - updated the gui a bit
0.4 - updated to utilize the new gtkdialog3 binary. For Puppy 2.14 and previous you'll need to install the new gtkdialog found at:

transmission-gtk in 2.14
m m m . . .plinej wrote:I doubt if Barry will want to add this to the base Puppy since it depends on transmissioncli which is not a part of the base iso. The latest version of transmissioncli that I've posted is 126.62 Kilobytes.
the existing transmission-gtk in 2.14
is 108k
so the cli version with your gui is not much more
which I wonder is the easier and simpler to use?
I seem to remember some people had problems with
transmission-gtk - maybe that has been sorted . . . ?
Any comparisons and opinions?
The thing is the gtk version in puppy is version 0.5 and the current svn version in 0.7 which features more updates and fixes some bugs. The 0.5 version is banned from several trackers for some reason (can't remember why). The cli version allows you to have multiple instances open which will allow you to change settings on a per torrent basis (as I stated at the begining of the thread). It's all a matter of preference but I really dislike the gtk version. If you just download 1 torrent at a time I suppose it doesn't really matter.
