Hi all,
I have a 2.11 base hd installation of my GioveLUG Edu that I play with to extend etc.. Now, I would like to migrate this installation to 2.12. Is it possible ?
If it is not possible I'm thinking to make this:
1. Boot from 2.11 live cd
2. Save the session of pupsave file
3. Boot again from 2.12 and convert (automated ?)
4. Run remaster script to have a new GioveLUG Puppy 2.12 based
5. Make a new hd installation of the last cd
Is it rigth ?

Yep. I did an upgrade from 2.11 to 2.12 in a full hd installation without any major problems. I simply ran the Universal installer from the 2.12 CD and chose the Upgrade option when prompted.slapshot wrote:Is there any way to migrate full hd installation from Puppy 2.11 to Puppy 2.12 ?
Puppy kept all my settings but it did change my menu in Icewm. I was able to recover from that by manually running the jwm2icewm script - because there was no "Refresh menu" option on the new menu.
The resulting Puppy seems to have the best of both worlds; all my original applications and settings plus some of the new ones included with 2.12. I'm a happy Puppy!
