Comments, observations, etc (but only from cognoscenti, please). As I constantly remind folk, I don't do SW, so if you want me to look in directories, files, do pinging, etc, I need a complete recipe, please!
All the HW, connections, etc have been double checked and are sound + working. Same (undisturbed!) systems always work from the liveCD.
Network problems with full install of 2.14
This turned out to be a very real phenomenon. Upgrade doesn't work! A completely fresh install onto a clean HD is required to get the network running properly (and the mouse, and Gxine, and ......
Now cfdisk doesn't work! C'est la vie.
Update: I found out where the error is in cfdisk. If it is loaded from Pdisk, it gives correct info (I never used Pdisk before!). If it is loaded from the console command <cfdisk>, it produces spurious output. This is new.
