Simple way to lose an evening's work.

I use a multi-session DVD in a desktop which has no hard disk. Been doing so for months, upgrading as I go, never any problems............until last night. I had taken the DVD out of the tray in order to burn a CD, and forgot to replace it before pressing the 'save-session' button. Puppy thought the non-existent disk was a full one and went into the 'newdisk/upgrade' routine with no way back. I was fresh out of blank DVD so had to pop in the one I had been using. It was less than half full, but as expected, the save exited with an error and the work done was lost. My own fault, I agree, but it's an oversight which could easily occur again. Would be nice if the save routine could check for an empty disk tray and give a second chance to do the job right.

The inability to back out of the "Save" window has cost me, too.

Lucky for me - when that happened, I pressed CTRL-C and saved the day.

Or maybe my PC's ACPI was not working so it really won't shut down!
