i think that's because you have an older gtk version. 2.6 maybe? i made that code optional in 0.7

I get the same error as sit heel speak, using 109ce. Is there a fix for it? I tried both versions of isomaster, 0.6 and 0.7

i just downloaded isomaster0.7 & it seems to run OK, (apart from some of the buttons missing their icons), on puppy1.08, so you should be able to get it going on 1.09.

maybe you just need mu's pangocairo pup:

http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Libraries/PangoCairo.pup

(N.B. recommended to backup just in case incompatible library files corrupt anything)

added a package compiled on Puppy 108, for older versions of Puppy. Includes all the necessary files, it does not require that Isomaster was already installed.

Thanks Muggins, but I've already got the pangocairo.pup installed, I think it was gyachi it needed it for.

Guestoo is it the isomaster on ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributio ... packages-1 ?

no, the pupget package seems to be an older version of Isomaster, version 0.6

you can use this package to upgrade Puppy 213 and probably 214 and any earlier versions of Puppy to Isomaster 0.7

and i also made a standalone Isomaster package, compiled using Puppy 108, that can be installed in older versions of Puppy that do not have Isomaster installed already ... this package should work in many of the versions of Puppy 1.x and 2.x

see the changelog for differences between Isomaster 0.6 and 0.7

New ISO Master version is out - 0.8.1. It has some neat new features. Sorry I release so often, I hope you get a chance to update the package.

Thanks in advance.

Version 1.0 is finally out! The source, as always, is on the download page. Would you update the package please?

Cheers

Useability suggestion

#33 Post by ecomoney »

Just a quick useability suggestion, when I first used isomaster, I wasnt sure what the panes did. Before anything can be done with it, an iso file needs to be opened from "file>open". I think that when isomaster opens it should present a file dialogue box where the user can select an ISO to edit. This should make it more intuitive.

Great package overall in any case and will make customising and using puppy a lot easier. :D

I'll second that, ecomoney. I used Isomaster sometime ago, then had another occassion recently to use it, but on both occassions I was stuck for a little while thinking how to use it. The second time, I didn't remember from the first. It's obvious once you get going, but there is this little non-intuitive first step.

I think it's a great idea. i have received a few reports about this exact problem, and I can't think of a reason why not to have the open dialog come up automatically. I think I'll do that for the next version.

If you have any other ideas, please share :)
