Xorg won't start - Read Only file system

#1 Post by lotusburg »

Installed 2.11-seamonkey-Xorgdrvrs on /hda7.
Edited root (/hda2) menu.lst to add: kernel (hda0,6) /boot/vmlinuz root=hda7 ro vga=normal
On boot, Puppy fails with "cannot find TTY" "cannot touch /tmp/bootconf.txt - read only file system"
If I edit grub to: kernel (hda0,6) /boot/vmlinuz root=hda7 rw vga=normal, xorg will start but asks for all parameters, as in Live CD startup.
Appreciate suggesions
jake
PS At prompt #xorgwizard will not run, citing Read-only file system

Your answer is in this thread:

Basically you only need to comment out one line in your /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file.

Cheers
