How to reduce background noise during a ZOOM session?

Hello,
Is there is way to eliminate or reduce background noise during a ZOOM session?
I am running BionicBeaver-64 on a HP dm1 with 4GB of RAM.
The version of ZOOM is ZOOM-5.
The HP dm1 heats up quickly and the fan kicks on during a ZOOM session.
I am guessing it is the fan that is causing the background noise.
The group of people I ZOOM with say they have trouble hearing me because of static noise whenever I unmute my mike.
When I do the sound test in Sound Card Wizard, the left and right speakers give off a lot of static noise then the 'bark bark' sound file activates.
Is this the thread that addresses background noise issues?

Thank you in advance,
