Latest version posted on the website as of this moment is 2.53.1 and not 2.5.2
I believe 2.53.2 was there briefly but withdrawn because of a problem.
Please confirm your version number and where you got it from if not the official website.
Latest version may need apulse for sound.

hello oscar.
I have 2.52.2 downloaded from the official seamonkey website here..
http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

It seems to be only youtube which has no sound.I have apulse i686 already installed from the puppy package manager.

Thanks.

I think you need to start seamonkey like firefox.
Code:
apulse firefox

Code:
apulse seamonkey
?

You could do this either by typing in a terminal.
You could also edit seamonkey's .desktop file in /usr/share/applications.
Edit/change the line Exec= and save it.
You will need to refresh the menu before it will work from menu entry.
You could also create a script which will execute these commands.

I should point out that i am using the extracted script in the seamonkey folder to open seamonkey as seamonkey is not actually installed from the puppy repo.I like seamonkey and this no sound issue is what is stopping me from using it as my main browser.
I have tried using the terminal command and a seamonkey not found error occurs.

Is there something from firefox which i can transfer over to the seamonkey folder which could help..?
I am stumped with this.

thanks.

No. Don't transfer anything from firefox. Open a terminal (if you don't have a desktop icon for that or console, look in Menu under Utility) then type:
apulse seamonkey
& press Enter

Okay i have appeared to have fixed it by using the path apulse/opt/seamonkey/seamonkey bin in the terminal and it worked. However how do i somehow get a desktop icon to work using this method.it is not really practical to keep using the terminal and entering commands to just open seamonkey..any ideas please.?

thanks.

Depending on where you have installed the main seamonkey folder, eg /opt or /usr/lib or /mnt/home,

Use the command apulse followed by the path to the executable, eg:-
Code:
apulse /opt/seamonkey/seamonkey

or
Code:
apulse /mnt/home/seamonkey/seamonkey

You can go on to put that in a script named seamonkey in /usr/bin and create a .desktop file if you want a menu entry and to be able to start seamonkey with just the seamonkey command.

I just tested 2.53.2 in Xenial 32bit and YouTube sound worked OK.

Hint: Using substitution, use your existing /usr/share/applications/palemoon.desktop file as a template to create the one for Seamonkey. Its application icon, seamonkey/chrome/icons/default/default48.png can be reliably sourced from /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps.
