I did a quick test with this kernel - --> huge-5.6.4-upupbb.tar.bz2 --> 5.6.4-rt3

from https://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linux_Huge-Kernels

Shutdown is working well with this kernel ... Wink

I observed: boot complains about "wrong EFI loader signature" - but no problem afterwards

I believe that is a "real-time" kernel produced by rockedge....

http://rockedge.org/kernels/data/kernel/32bit/5.6.4-rt3/

Maybe send rockedge a PM to see if he knows what in the config might be curing your problem??

I tried your <huge-5.4.44-pup32.tar.bz2> kernel and shutdown works too!

from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/files/Other/huge-kernels/

Should i stick with that?

I'm running peebees 4.14.182 kernel (from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/files/Other/huge-kernels/huge-4.14.182-lxpup.tar.bz2/download) in upupef +5 on the i5 based fujitsu with no problems. Might be interesting how you fare with that wrt your shutdown problem as it might be a logical next kernel for EF. My 2 cents only...

That kernel was built for ScPup32-20.06 (actually comes with 5.4.46) with a different config obtained from Porteus Linux.....

Go with whatever works best for you.....

Would be nice to know what part of the config fixes your problem though....

I'll upload 5.4.46....

Thank you, peebee

I took your <huge-5.4.46-pup32.tar.bz2> kernel and shutdown works (as 5.4.44 did).
