Hi guys thanks for helping me with the IceWM theme from the previous post. I've got a new question for you:
I installed the dotpup of WINE from the following link:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Wine-0.9.17.pup
I have also installed a WINE interface via the following link:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Win ... ox-1.2.pup
So far I have done the following steps:
1. Mount my C: drive from MUT
2. Open the WINE interface with winecfg from the console
3. Under the "Drives" tab, set the drive mapping for drive C: to:
/mnt/sda1/
This is to set the directory for C: drive
4. Under the "Applications" tab, set the windows version to Windows XP
5. Under the "Applications" tab, added a new application to the following directory:
/mnt/sda1/Program files/Gravity/ Anima.exe
Upon pressing OK and exiting the WINE interface, I was prompted with error:
==========Error message start==========
err:
module:
load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L'wineesd.drv':
libesd.so.0:
cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory
err:
winecfg:
on_remove_click unixpath:
/mnt/sda1/Program Files/Gravity/
==========Error message end===========
What do I do from here? Did I install WINE correctly? It was from the dotpup file but I did notice a error message during installation. Anyway, I am using Puppy 2.11 Beta from a USB drive with a ext3 file system.
Cheers!
Need help getting WINE to work
I don't know, but I think you should configure Wine as you've done, but remove the program from the 'applications' tab. Then open a console, and type # wine '/mnt/sda1/Program files/Gravity/Anima.exe', and post the errormessages that apear. Oh, and remember to quote the path to the program, as it contains spaces.

libesd is a soundsystem:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/li ... 0.2.36.pup
I would not set C: to a existing windows-drive.
Imagine you install a program, that installs files to c:\windows\system.
If you install it in Wine, it could overwrite files of your XP-system with the risk of breaking it.
It would be better to use the preferences, what uses a hidden folder in your Puppy as C: ( /root/.wine/drive_c )

Hi all,
Thanks for your help. But I still couldn't get it running. This was what I did:
1. Uninstall WINE from my computer decide to restart everything again
2. Downloaded and installed the following:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Win ... 0.9.22.pup
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Win ... rdview.pup
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Win ... ox-1.2.pup
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/li ... 0.2.36.pup
Problem. While configuring WINE from Winecfg, when I click on the 'Audio' tab I received the error message below under a xmessage:
wine:
Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x003ffd80 at address 0x60fc7099 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Modules:
Cannot get info on module while no process is loaded
Threads:

s are in hex)
0000000a
0000000b 0
00000008 (D) (null)
00000009 0
Any advice? Or should I install:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Emulators/Wine-0.9.17.pup
Which is supposed to be more stable? By the way, I have executed some programs below but had some errors:
1. Anima.exe the program which I want to run, said it needs to refer to files
2. QuickTime.exe. Apple quicktime
Is it sill to early at this point to say if WINE can run these programs? Was hoping to run WINE on my games as I have seen a post on this forum somewhere that people are doing it. E.g. Doom 3, Half-Life

Yes, this is an unsolved bug since 0.9.18.Problem. While configuring WINE from Winecfg, when I click on the 'Audio' tab I received the error message below under a xmessage:
But maybe you will get sound anyway?
Did you try it?

For Halflive (1), you can use Wine 0.9.17 I think, I played it with an even older version before.
Just the menu might look buggy.
