Original post:

L18L has been the main guy who helped me with de translations for EasyOS. I have a file that I would like someone to check, but I see that L18L hasn't posted to this forum since January, so decided to post here:

The file is attached, it has Google translations done by me. Would someone mind scanning through it and see if the the translations are reasonable, and correct if not?

Might be a good idea to post your intention to do it, so that there is not duplication.

Today I released EasyOS 1.1RC French Edition:

http://bkhome.org/news/201907/easyos-ed ... caise.html

And plan to release the German Edition very soon.

This will be a complete translation, from the very first boot menu, and no langpack PET will be required.

If anyone want to translate this also, it would be appreciated:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64/ ... readme.htm

...otherwise, I will use Google, as I did for the fr translation.

I suppose that all the texts are available in the work of Rainer and really actual in his work on Bionic Pup! But as I am a «Bildungsausländer» in Germany, I would prefer that a "Bildungsinländer» does the adaptation!

@L18L,
Thanks for that. Yes, I think that I have your earlier translations.

One thing that I am curious about, did you find the Google translations to be reasonably OK? Some of them seemed to be a bit verbose, compared with the original more concise English.

@L18L
Thank you very much. I have added these to the langpack.

Uploaded:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/noarch ... 190720.pet

...of course, the latest langpack will be builtin to the next de release, plus the build script in woof pulls in a lot more de translations, such as for SeaMonkey.

I also fixed translations for /usr/sbin/delayedrun

I will checkout the touchpad.

I am running 1.0.92 on a laptop right now, and flsynclient works. I turned off tapping, which is annoying when using a usb mouse.

There are various things that you can try:

Maybe run "dmesg" in a terminal and filter for the word "firmware"

If you run "xinput", does it detect the touchpad?:

Code: Select all

# xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]
⎜   ↳ Optical Mouse                           	id=6	[slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ [b]SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad[/b]              	id=8	[slave  pointer  (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]
    ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button                            	id=9	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sleep Button                            	id=10	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button                            	id=11	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus                               	id=12	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus                               	id=13	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ 1.3M WebCam: 1.3M WebCam                	id=14	[slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Acer WMI hotkeys id=15	[slave keyboard (3)]
Open /proc/bus/input/devices in a text editor (Geany) and there should be a line in there like this:

Code: Select all

@L18L,
Another thing to check is look at "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf with a text editor.

You will see in that file a suggestion about a commented-out option. That's something I never have experimented with. That file has a link which is interesting:

Google translations

not ok:
added space before and after slash and =

EasyOS Deutsche Ausgabe 1.0.92 is about 99.9% ok.

verbosity is feature of German language (and many others).

I wonder why. The only really significant difference that could affect the mouse would be the kernel upgrade, from 4.14.105 to 5.1.15.

I will remember that about the spaces with the slash and = characters.

sfsget is broken in version 2.2.16!!!

I am removing 2.2.16 off the Internet, will post a new version soon. If you already have 2.2.16, I will post a fix.

Re-uploaded 2.2.16, it turned out that the SFS-file-list file at the ibiblio.org repository was incorrect. I fixed it, and now sfsget works.
