Yes, a French Edition of EasyOS. There have been French builds of earlier releases, but this one has fixed many bugs and limitations, and a more complete translation.

Regarding your earlier failure to run EasyOS, this latest has kernel 5.1.15, which may succeed. Earlier releases had the 4.14.x kernel.

Hi Barry,
Starts now really on my laptop (*1 and seems to work perfectly! Gratulations! And this version with full operable high level app's like Libreoffice, Scribus, Gimp etc. in that tiny size of only 421 Mb, that is powerfull!

That's good news. Yes, you have to write the iso file to the entire drive, sdb, not a partition.

Let me know if you hit any problems.

I already know there are some issues with running SeaMonkey in a container. It takes a log time to start if there is no Internet connection, and crashes easily. For me, when there was an Internet connection, SM started fast and was stable in the container.

As you are running from an ISO, don't forget to try persistence:

...I am not sure if it will work when booted from a USB stick I only tested an ISO burnt to a CD-R. I will test that now.

J'ai fait une installation 'frugal' sur le disc ssd d'un portable i5.

Il faut adapter BOOT_SPECS qui se trouve dans initrd.
Pour info:

BOOT_DIR='easyFR/'
WKG_LABEL='puppy'
WKG_DIR='easyFR/'
INIT_LANG='fr_FR.UTF-8'

On trouve le label de la partition dans gParted ou avec blkid.

Je n'ai pas encore rencontré de problèmes.
Seulement, il n'y a pas de Xconsole, mais c'est dans le menu.

I did a frugal install on the ssd of my i5 laptop.

One has to adapt the BOOT_SPECS inside initrd.

Je me permets juste de signaler que ce fil sert davantage à informer les utilisateurs francophones des avancées (de l'édition française) de EasyOS mais les éventuels feedbacks sont plutôt attendus et centralisés sur le fil anglophone.

I would just like to point out that this thread is useful to inform French-speaking users of the progress (of the French edition) of EasyOS but feedbacks are rather expected and centralized on the English-speaking thread.

Je découvre seulement maintenant ce beau travail... sans avoir encore approfondi, EasyOs semble très bien fonctionner sur mon petit acer AspireV5.
J'ai toutefois un souci avec le bluetooth, la connexion sur ma chaîne se fait bien mais je n'arrive à y envoyer le son.
Testé le navigateur portable "Brave" de Mike Walsh :

EasyPUP qui vaut aussi le détour et sera peut-être (au moins pour les habitués du Puppy classique) un peu moins déroutant qu'EasyOS...

I am removing 2.2.16 off the Internet, will post a new version soon. If you already have 2.2.16, I will post a fix.

Re-uploaded 2.2.16, it turned out that the SFS-file-list file at the ibiblio.org repository was incorrect. I fixed it, and now sfsget works.

tout d'abord un grand merci pour easyos .
c'est la 1er fois que j'envisage serieusement de passé sous Linux .

mais je bloque sur des choses enfantines , et il me faut tout apprendre .

je voudrais simplement supprimer les 30secondes au démarrage .

mais je ne trouve pas le dossier

boot->grub->menu.lst

Sois le bienvenu, tu ne le regretteras pas!

Si tu lances ton OS à partir d'un CD/DVD, c'est le fchier "isolinux.cfg" (voire grub.cfg?) qui se trouve dessus qu'il faut modifier directement dans l'image ISO (avec "isomaster" par exemple, qui est en principe embarqué sur tous les Puppies) et que tu la graves à nouveau.
Sur clé USB, tu peux le faire directement dessus.
Mais le plus simple est encore d’appuyer sur la touche "Enter" au démarrage pour court-circuiter le compte à rebours.
