Posting from 8.1 (a.k.a. 7.5) now.
No problems installing (Frugal) and running multiple apps.
Printing & scanning from network multifunction Epson all good.

8.1 is in a quantum state. It exists and it does not exist.
It kinda materialised and then shifted
(Only Puppy can do this)
Basically it is up to our talented tinkerers and developers.

I would say version 7 would be:
- Slacko 14.2
- Dpup Stretch
- Ubuntu Xenial

And 8 would be:
- Slacko 15.0 (with Slacko-current being 7.9 or 7.x)
- Dpup Buster
- Ubuntu Bionic

But I don't know, that just sounds right to me from how it usually has been based on distro version timeline in the past.
