https://dailycaller.com/2017/11/13/chinese-cameras-monitor-us-army-bases-streets-and-homes/

Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology, in which the Chinese government has a 42 percent share, produces surveillance equipment for China’s vast domestic surveillance network, used to keep tabs on the Chinese people. But, these cameras are also being used to monitor U.S. Army bases, embassies, streets, and homes, according to The Wall Street Journal.

This past summer, the Department of Homeland Security issued a cybersecurity warning for Hikvision, noting the existence of a loophole in the system that easily allows hackers, including state-owned hackers, to breach the system.

The Chinese military is suspected to have conducted corporate espionage operations for years against the U.S., causing U.S. companies to lose billions in potential profits. Chinese agents are believed to have penetrated secure systems for American defense contractors, stealing the plans for the F-35 and other major military projects, and the Ministry of State Security is said to be behind the infamous Office of Personnel Management hack, in which the personal data for millions of former and current government employees were lifted by hackers.

How to explain the fast economic rise of China in just a few decades? Spying, cheap labor and/or delocation of production to China?

Maybe a domestic market with app. 1.200.000.000 people who need resonably priced products that work, have something to do with it? If they are so bad, why does the US army buy them?

Hello, all.

A market of 1.2 billion people. Let's not forget about that.

Plus "The Chinese military is suspected to have conducted corporate espionage...".

When said big corporations (US or no) see a market like that escaping them, they are in
pain, they drool, and they will "suspect" a lot of things to get a share of it. Old story new.

There is an ongoing thriller right now, concerning the telecom giant Huawei, and it's frontline technology to build the new 5G mobile telephone net. They already dominate the 4G base station market, and Nokia and Motorola and others would like their share of the market for the next generations. There are a lot on conspiratory blabber being served these days, about how the chinese could spy on all of us through analyzing the phone calls. Well, good luck! If so, there are a great deal of jobs to be created! The latest issue in the spy story, was when Nokia unintentionally opened their user data bases to the chinese a couple of weeks ago. So what? Get a new phone number, if you are a very concerned citicen.

Hi.

As you may know, at this time Canada is keeping hostage the daughter of Huawei's
founder on behalf of the Americans. The reason? He was an officer in the Chinese army
before he retired and founded the Huawei company.

Big deal. Lots of officers in many armies start another career after retiring from the Forces.
If that's the only argument the Americans have, it's as thin as air.
