How to connect wifi to Dell 3180 inspiron laptop?

That machine should not be slow at all.
Also, according to the specs for the one you say you have, it DOES have an ethernet port.

Are you sure your wireless light is on?

Fn / F2 keys....for Dell.

" hold down the "Fn" key and press the "F2" button once.
The Wi-Fi light should come on and the laptop will prompt you to select
a Wi-Fi network.

I always use Frisbee to connect wireless in Puppy.
