It only happens with vertical icons - and my builds are probably the only ones that have vertical icons - but it happens with other builds if you change them to vertical icons ....
so yes it is a Woof-CE issue....

In what other Puppies do you have this behaviour?
I have it with the icons on the bottom or left just the same.

I have tried changing from bottom to left in dpup Stretch from radky and in xenialpup. I have to change the gaps to have proper placement, but no piles.

In xenialpup I have to ask for a refresh/realignment. In Stretch even a simple restart of X makes the change.
Calculations seem to take a little time, more than I would expect.

I see it in pups made with recent versions of Woof-CE

XenialPup is too old in this regard.

I see it in UPupBB and UPupCC.

I also see it in Norgo's recent update of Slacko 700 RC3 - K4.4.70 PAE

I have it in upupBB also. I haven't installed upupCC yet.

I've tried norgo's new slacko build and I do not have piles there. I chose right on the screenshot, but left is similar.
Could this depend on the screen or some other hardware?

The other recent CE Puppy I have installed is radky's RC4 for dpup Stretch. No piles.

Many thanks for putting this together.

Tried the 64bit version. Boot up and configuring and software very familiar.

Never seen Compton before. It basically gives a bit of shadow and transparency and fade in and out of menus. So if you like glitz. However it seems slower when programs fade in and out, so back to fast Puppy for me.

Have added Palemoon browser and devx, Felt very comfortable. Then I ran into problems with Transmission

Could be my IP not happy with me using PirateBay the well known freedom party . . .

I just discovered this rather by chance:
There are a few Spacing of ROX icons that work good.
The value for Spacing has to be 48 at least. Good values are 64 and 96.
Decreasing this values by 1 at a time, gives a pile for the drive icons on a place closer and closer to the start of the line. Biggest pile and lowest place for the pile is on 2nd place.

I first discovered this in dpup Stretch RC4 from radky. It is the same in ScPup64.

I will report this now in woof CE.

Testing the 32 bit build now! ScPup 19.01 +3, I grabbed the entire new iso,
extracted over contents of the directory I did my frugal install to HD on,
and booted...no problems so far! I did install Palemoon 27.3.0 from PPM,
working pretty well. Hopefully this post will be in the correct place this time!

Peebee, this won't be a problem for anyone else, but in all previous 64 bit Pups, I've been able to run 32bit emelfm (& a few other utils) by adding a few 32 bit libs to /usr/lib , but not this Pup. I get 'emelfm file not found'. Works in LxPupSc64. I thought ScPup64 was LxPupSc64 minus lxde. Is there a 32 bit compat file?

It is LxPupSc64 minus LXDE.......can you provide any more info on the error report?

There is no "32 bit compat file" - and I wouldn't be sure how to create one without doing some research.....maybe the Slacko64 version might work???

Thanks peebee! Grabbed the sfs, installed without a hitch, only oddity
I've noticed is when changing Preferences (Tools/Preferences), when
you select a different option, the checkbox doesn't change...BUT the
setting will! Anyway, small annoyance, lol...to get a somewhat modern
browser to run on this old netbook (Acer Aspire One ZG5) has been
a fun filled adventure!

Just want to report the following problem:

In ScPup64 19.01 +3, the firefox64-65.01-lxsc.sfs file found under "Get web browser", don't seem to work. It download but give some kind of error when you try to load it.

Odd - works OK for me when loaded onto a pristine ScPup64....

What is the error? Run firefox in a terminal and copy/post the result please.

What is the md5 sumcheck of the sfs?

Do you have other things loaded?

Thank you, I did manage to load it with a txz file I had. When ever I tried to load the sfs file it said that it failed to load it. I use a "full" installation, and only loaded Skype and a Russian keyboard pet onto it.

That's it: sfs does not go well with full install. If you have 1G RAM or more, do a frugal install of Puppy: You will use Puppy's capabilities better.
